DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT CENTER FOR MENTAL HEALTH & SUBSTANCE ABUSE DISORDERS.

A truly integrated dual diagnosis treatment center is staffed with professionals who are qualified to treat both addiction and mental health disorders. Ripple Recovery Ranch is an integrated dual diagnosis treatment center.

In addition to the disease of addiction, many addicts suffer from a co-occurring condition, such as anxiety or depression.  In order to effectively treat addiction, the co-occurring condition must also be addressed. Our psychiatrist evaluates every client to determine if such a condition exists.  As part of our dual diagnosis treatment plan, psychiatric medication may be recommended.

One of the challenges found in a dual diagnosis treatment center is assessments. Being able to identify co-occurring conditions accurately and early enough in treatment to direct clinical decisions is vital. To assist our treatment team in developing a clearer clinical picture, each client receives the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory psychological test. This empirically validated assessment supports our clinicians in identifying potential personality disorders and/or clinical syndromes, such as anxiety or depression.

Our team of treatment professionals draw on many years of experience and training in chemical dependency and mental health disorders to deliver the highest level of care.  Management of both the substance abuse disorder and the co-occurring condition are addressed in all aspects of our program.

New Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center Tool: Pharmaco-Genetic Testing

As a dual diagnosis treatment center, we have seen the dramatic difference the right medication can make in a person’s life. One of the most challenging aspects of good psychiatric care is finding the right medication for each individual. Different people respond to medications in different ways. While one person might see great results from a specific medication, another person might have an adverse reaction. Or, they may get limited to no benefit at all. Until recently, this has made psychiatric medicine a frustrating process of trial and error. Unfortunately, many patients give up on the process before good results can be gained.

Pharmaco-genetic testing takes the guesswork out of medication management. With a simple swab of the mouth, a full genetic profile can be obtained. This profile identifies which medications will be best metabolized by the patient in order to obtain the best results. It also identifies which medications are likely to be ineffective or produce an adverse reaction.

This genetic profile never changes. That means the report can be taken to any doctor in the future to help guide medication decisions. The profile gives direction for many other medical issues as well, such as hypertension, chronic pain, etc.

Pharmaco-genetic testing is an optional service that can be billed to your insurance or provided at a private fee rate with the lab.
